Management Team

Sarra Chhoa, is the Founder, Managing Partner & Chief Investment Officer of the Fund. Sarra leads the investment process, from deal sourcing & origination, structuring, negotiation, asset management, development, and exit strategies.

Sarra is responsible for the Fund’s internal investments underwriting and review process, oversees the investments and development team and has oversight over all Fund decisions.  In addition, Sarra will also oversee capital formation, financing and other Fund asset and Fund related capital needs.  Sarra has extensive global real estate investments and development experience as a professional and investor, having been involved in over USD10.0 billion of real estate investments.  Sarra also brings 20 years of global banking and investments experience across multiple industry sectors and markets including the US, Europe and Asia Pacific.

He has extensive experience working with real estate developers, investors, architects, construction companies, asset management companies, real estate legal, accounting and industry professionals.  Prior to founding Red Crane, Sarra was responsible for real estate investments and was a founding member of Standard Chartered Bank’s real estate investment platform.  Prior to Standard Chartered Bank, Sarra was with Hyatt International, where he was in charge of Real Estate Acquisitions & Hotel Developments in Asia Pacific working for the Pritzker family.  Prior to Hyatt, Sarra was with Merrill Lynch where he was responsible for private equity investments in Asia Pacific.  Prior to Merrill Lynch, Sarra was with Deutsche Morgan Grenfell’s global M&A practice based in New York.

Sarra holds a B.S. Economics with a concentration in Finance and Strategic Management from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Michael B. Evanoff is a Managing Director of the Fund.  Michael’s primary focus is hotel management contract and other services agreement negotiations working with the fund’s legal advisors.  Michael B. Evanoff has worked for major international law firms in New York and London before joining Hyatt International Corporation in 1984.  He served Hyatt International as Senior Vice President – Development and General Counsel.

While at Hyatt International, Mr. Evanoff oversaw the development of approximately seventy Hyatt International hotels and casinos worldwide, and created a number of very successful investment opportunities for the Pritzker family, owners of Hyatt.  Currently Mr. Evanoff is Chairman of Marlborough Hospitality Services, which provides consultancy and development services to the hospitality industry.  Marlborough grew out of First Oriental Holdings Corporation (Singapore), a family Private Equity firm.  Mr. Evanoff was Chairman of First Oriental from 2004 to 2009, managing investments in residential and hotel properties in Southeast Asia.
